Downloading to iPad problems

Not sure if I should put this here or in one of the iPad forums, but I'm trying to download iOS 10 to my iPad Pro no trouble downloading the software. But on the restart during installation it's asking me to plug my iPad into iTunes anyone else running into this?

Yup same here. It's a brand new iPad Pro 9.7. Pretty annoyed.

I have the same problem. I cannot start up my iPad Pro at all. When I plug into iTunes, it says there is a problem and I need to update. I hope I don't lose anything but it is not looking good.

I passed on all the betas for this very reason. I don't have access to a computer right now. What are my options?

MacBook Pro at work (which I'm on now just has some music in it)

Updated over the air iPad Pro 9.7 to iOS 10 (from iOS9)
Rebooted to DFU / connect to iTunes
Here's what happens when I do that:

I did a backup to iCloud before starting the update to iOS 10 so at least my data is safe. iTunes backup was lsat night.

Try to update before restoring once you connect to iTunes to try to avoid losing your personal data. That is if iTunes gives you the update option. This is mostly targeted at people who haven't backed their devices up. If the update route doesn't work then you have to restore. If it's not giving you iOS 10 as the latest update you need to update iTunes before hand.

just ignore the error message.

itunes may ask you couple of times to update your device... althought it is already downloading the file.

then it may say that the updating failed (it is still downloading!!!), just igonere it.

when the file is downloaded, click the update button.

Having problems also on my iPad Pro keep getting cannot connect to update server left it sitting for a half hour that way with no changes or ability to hit update button wtf

Update: I was able to get it updated when I got home and powered everything down and started up again. That was the first time that happened to me and hopefully the last. Maybe powering everything down helps.
