Hey guys,
just wondering if DP2 is stable enough to test it out on my main and only computer. I don't mind occassional app crashing. I just don't want the computer dead. Do you think its ok now or shall I wait for DP3/DP4? What do you think, please?

All I use is Maya which I think works fine, right?

Ok, I guess I will wait then. So impatient though even though I have pretty much nothing really to gain except few fancy icons :)
But I'm on retina and apparently its more tweaked so wanted to test it out :)
Ok, public beta it is.

Nope, wait until the public beta comes out, which will mean that apple thinks that it is stable enough for a main OS.

That is not what a public beta means. When Apple thinks they have a stable OS, then it will be the final version of Yosemite and not the public beta.
Apple wants people to test the public beta in order to catch even more bugs, and at the same time make people feel more excited about this new release.

Yes, I know that. I said stable enough for a main OS, not completely stable. That means no bugs that'll cause a kernel panic or a reboot or anything along those lines. Also, the UI will probably be more consistent and complete.

You can't go by "this DP is stable for me". It may not be stable for you. The next one may be, the one after that not. It is a crapshoot in the early DP's and all over the map and different for different systems. That what DPs are for. If you don't have a developer account and have to ask then the answer is you should wait.

No doubt it will be close to stable when the public DP comes out but you still have no recourse to Apple unless you have a develop account.
