WIll DP3 be tomorrow?

Yes!

No doubt about it!

Of course!

Actually, I have no idea...nor does anybody else.

But that shouldn't stop a lively, if totally pointless, discussion.:D

Ah yes :) Someone had to say that.
It´s for the sake of curiosity and fun, if you feel the thread is useless then there´s no need for you to post at all.

I didn't say it was useless, the post says it was pointless.

And if tossing about guesses with no substance at all floats your boat...have a ball.:D

There have been some rumors that the next iOS 8 beta won't go out until next week, and it's really likely at this point the iOS and Yosemite releases will stay in sync. It might make sense not to drop it before a US holiday weekend.

OTOH, might come out tomorrow. We shall see!

It might make more sense for them to alternate releases, so when the bug reports come flooding in on release they can concentrate on that one platform.

That's where I'm coming from too. And a lot of the features are either similar across both platforms (like extensions and Swift), or they are actually tied together (Continuity, iCloud). It might be easier to coordinate releases to those pieces if you could do them together.

It doesn't change a thing if they are two dedicated teams.

Plus, synchronizing the releases is useful especially with Yosemite and iOS 8, because there are features like Continuity, Handoff and SMS that require programming on both platforms. If you make a build of both products and realize it works as expected, it makes sense to release them both at the same time.

I wonder what'll be new in DP3

Both are probably feature-frozen since DP1. So nothing new really, bug fixes only.
(except if new for you means slight icon changes for instance)

Wow, I'm surprised I'm the first to say this:

Fingers crossed for full Dark Mode! : 3

I second that, only real thing that interests me in Yosemite.

The continuity and handoff features are great but when I am working there is a reason why my phone is not with me :)

Distraction free mode would be great for those features.

I don't know whY no one is considering that the DP2 was released on a TuesdaY. :)

It'd actually be great if we get full dark mode ! we'll see what DP3 has in store !

I just want to DP3 to come with announcement of the public beta. I have a test partition just begging to be used. :p

Side note: They update the emoji on Macrumors! Just noticed that.

iOS 7 and Mavericks were launch a month apart last year, no reason it couldn't follow suit and iOS hit GM status first again or vice versa.

There is a chance upcoming release will be the public beta

PS> what happened to all the smileys?

Arg. That sucks. I can't move on with the development of my app without a more stable release of Xcode and a fixed version of Swift... At least it's not DP1 anymore, I couldn't even save arrays to user preferences (!).
