this happens only on DP5 (DP1~4 are fine). All magic mouse/trackpad gestures stopped working, you cannot activate mission control by swiping up with your two or three fingers, other gestures ceased working too.

DP5 is really really bad.:(

I have had the gestures fail too , the back/forward gestures fail , and also scroll up/down at the same time .....thought Apple had fixed it since this is still an issue with Mavericks, v.disappointing.

I am also experiencing issues with trackpad gestures on my MacBook Pro running DP5. The 4 finger swipe up/down gestures can stop working at any time and the only fix for this is logging out and then back in. A rather strange thing that happened yesterday was that the gestures came back to normal without having to log out (used the laptop for about a few hours having the gestures broken). I have no clue how that was possible though ... Maybe (hopefully) it's just some random bug introduced in DP5 since I also had no issues at all with gestures in the previous betas.

The same, the gesture came back once yesterday and i guess this is related with jitouch. Do you have this app on your Mac? I've done some tests on that, when I boot my machine without jitouch auto-launch, the gesture will not fail.

Well, actually I am not using the app you mentioned and still get the occasional freezes.

What is worse is that I've just installed DP6 and right after 20 mins of light usage (browsing the web) ALL the gestures failed to respond. Had to put the computer to sleep and wake it up again and that solved it for the moment (which is actually a little improvement over having to log out and back in ...).

Going a little off-topic, I noticed HUGE improvements when bringing up mission control (4-finger swipe up). The animation is now buttery smooth and it's at least as good as it's in Mavericks.
