Does anyone have the DP8 direct link thats NOT on an Apple server?

I have been trying to download it and the App Store tells me over 8hrs, but when finished its always corrupted. I have a link to the file directly form the Dev Forums but thats says it will take me over 20 hours.

Only Apple servers are running very slow for me so it must be something on their end and fils form others places on line and video streaming works just fine.

Then Apple needs to fix their crap to give me better than 7-9KB/s speeds.

What evidence do you have that he is not a developer? Or are you just making an assumption?

Developers get a redeem code for Yosemite in the Mac Dev Center, which then appears in the Purchases tab of the Mac App Store. I think you can put 2 and 2 together. :)

I don't have a problem with people getting previews though, I'm just saying he shouldn't be complaining, or asking for links in the wrong place ;)

Did you miss the part where I said:"I have been trying to download it and the App Store tells me over 8hrs, but when finished its always corrupted."

Simple reading goes a long way. Or would you prefer I link you to my, and others, bitching on the Dev Forums?

Pretty strange for you to ask here though. As a developer those two are the only ways to get it officially from Apple. There is no other direct link.

DP 8 - some facts - how to get it

joined apple dev for OS X last night - $99
---
link for (labeled as) DP 8 in dev. prog.
installs DP 7 over mavericks
---
booting into DP 7,
app store offers update to DP 8
---
everything went perfectly
macbook pro 5,1 with OCZ 512 GB OCZ SSD
now running DP 8
---
beta 3 seems to be unobtanium
---
AFAIK, DP 8 and beta 3 = identical
-----
coder from way back, will learn to code for OS X now.
yet another skill.

*sigh* Okay, so you weren't actually making assumptions; you just have a problem with reading comprehension.

He is a developer. He was trying to download the thing through official channels. He had already tried downloading it from there; it took several hours to complete because of some problem between him or his ISP and Apple's servers or the CDN they use, AND the download ended up being unusable once it finished. From the sounds of it, he may have tried to do this multiple times, and received a corrupted download after every several-hour-long attempt. If it were me, by this time I would be frustrated at the wasted time, too. So he was wondering if anyone had any leads on unofficial sources for the download that would allow for him to not only download it faster but actually receive an uncorrupted file at the end.

I agree with you that it doesn't seem like a good idea for him or anyone else to try to do that, and anyone actually with an answer to his question who tried to provide it here on these forums would be breaking the forum rules anyway, but nonetheless, your responses to him so far have been full of misconceptions.

Hopefully he can get some kind of support through official channels. I don't know what kinds of support developers can get on issues like this, but it's probably worth the OP's time to try to contact developer support and open a ticket of some sort.

If you keep downloading the update directly from Apple, there are two problems that are possible. These problems may be overlook. You might have a bad hard drive or bad ram.

If a block of one of your ram chips is bad, anything that passes through that block can become corrupt. Try shutting down every unneeded app while downloading to avoid hitting any bad blocks of ram.

Try rebooting while holding down D during boot. Check your ram and hard drive for errors.

If a ram chip is bad, remove that chip and try downloading with just the other chip.

Pretty strange for you to be commenting in a thread where you clearly did NOT read the first post.

Clearly I was asking for a non-direct from Apple link as Apple is failing me. I think they teach reading and comprehension in grade school. You may with to repeat it as you are the ONLY person in this thread not understanding.

That would be logical. If this were effecting any other aspect of my computer aside from trying to download this one file.

Someone was able to give me a link to it and it downloaded from that host perfectly fast and I had it downloaded in just minutes. The issues is with Apples servers and even on the Dev forums others are having this issue.

I know someone sent you a link. I do find that that if you keep your device in the shade, it will run better. I am glad you got your problem solved.
