I just got my Dr. Bott in yesterday and am having no success. I ran the hdmi cable to the dr bott device, then from that to the imac but when I hit command F2 absolutely nothing happens. No, flickering, no black screen and certainly no xbox. I made sure that the xbox was set to 720p and I even tried more than one xbox. I have a 24" Led cinema dispay that works fine when plugged into the imac yet I cant get the xbox to work with the cinema display either. This makes me wonder if maybe the dr bott unity is faulty. I dont think the problem is with the xbox since I tried more than one. And I dont think the problem is with the imac since it runs the cinema display fine.
I read that Dr bott had great customer support so I gave them a call and the guy I spoke with said that they only offer ps3 support and wont know whether the xbox works for a few weeks? Since I had read so many reviews online about how great it was with xbox (the reason I bought it) I had hoped that maybe this guy didn't know what he was talking about so I waited a day and called back only to get the same exact tech representative. It seemed to me like they only have one guy working tech support since the first time I called I was told to call back as tech support was away from his desk.
Im at a loss for what to do next. I made sure that the imac and display both have the latest firmware updates. Is it possible that because the imac is expecting the display to be plugged in that it is only searching for the cinema display and not the xbox when I hit command F2? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Its killing me that this thing has finally arrived and I still cant use it!

there is a thread on here pertaining to the dr. bott device try searching for it. i bought the kanex but it doesn't come out till april! :(

I read the entire thread already (thats what led me to purchase this adapter) and I still have no idea what I could be doing wrong. :(

For the 24" LED Cinema Display ready version, see Dr. Bott Part Number 9590-DVLK.

is that the one you ordered?

Looking at your signature, it appears you have a 24" iMac and not a 27". Unfortunately, only the 27" models allow for input via the mini displayport port.

I dont see the part number on the box but it appears to be capable of supporting both the cinema display and the imac. The box says:

Dr. Bott Digital Video Link for Apple 27" Imac (display mode)
Mini DisplayPort 1.1a
For Apple Imac 27" (1280x720, 720p & HDCP)
Supports 24" LED Cinema Display (1920x1200)
(HDMI Cable included)
