Hi, it's driving me nuts that when I drag and drop a file to a folder, it always opens the folder. I just want to drag and drop files to folders in a Finder window. How do I prevent the folder from opening in Yosemite?

Isn't that an expected behaviour?

I know that if you mouseover the file too long on a folder, it will open the folder in a new finder window...

I'm using running XtraFinder and I don't remember what changes I made, no matter how long i mouseover a file to a folder, it will not open the folder.

That's spring-loaded folders, its just very fast by default in Yosemite. You can change the timing or turn off completely with Finder Preferences.

Oh, thanks! Yeah, the delay time was set to "short" by default. Changed it to "long" and I'm now maintaining my sanity :apple:
