Dragging images into dock stack opens finder window

Since this past weekend, everytime I drag a picture into my dock's stack folders, it then opens that finder window in the background. It's annoying and there should be some sort of fix :/

Go to Finder in the menubar - click on Preferences.
Under the General Tab - check the setting for Spring Loaded Folders. Adjust as necessary.
