Hi everyone,

Virtualization on M1 Macs is really exciting, but it’s not available yet. So I thought I could install Dragon Anywhere for iOS on my new M1 Macbook and use Dragon Anywhere for dictation. I’ve been able to install Dragon Anywhere, launch it, but then i get issues with the microphone. I’ve granted Mic access in System Preferences, but I still get this message:
“Recording is not permitted in this application. To enable microphone access, go to Settings, Privacy, Microphone. Note: The application is restarted automatically when this setting is changed.” Has anyone had success with this?

I am also interested in using Dragon anywhere on my M1 MacBook Pro, for dictation. Having the exact same issue, tried many workarounds including installing Loopback to reroute audio but no success, if any insights or fixes for this, please post, would be very helpful. Dragon will not support this set up so I'm sure will not be helpful

I installed Parallels-Beta for the M1 Mac with Windows 10, Dragon 15.61 and Office on a 16GB M1 Mac mini. It is working really good and a little bit faster compared to a i9 Macbook Pro 2018. So there is more than hope. Btw - Dragon anywhere never worked for me.

Does anyone know if Nuance has plans to update the ios app to work with Big Sur? The majority of the macs out there are Intel and while M1 can or will run dragon Anywhere, it will not work without specific ios support on an Intel Chip Unfortunately, very difficult to reach anyone at nuance to discuss....ever. FYI, for now, I am running BlueStacks ( Now updated for Big Sur) on my MacBook Air (2017) with Dragon Anywhere. Works well enough and the cut/copy and paste feature allows easy transfer to email or WORD.

I am not optimistic that Nuance will update this app to work with the M1 Mac. It has barely been updated even on iOS. Nuance is not very responsive

I have not been able to get it to work on the M1 Mac, it says microphone access needed even though microphone access has been granted

Has anyone found a work around to allow the microphone to work? This would be so helpful!

Hey radus does dragon dictation on parallels lag much on the m1? I assume the microphone works as you'd like it to.

Also which build of windows are you using?

Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.21292.1010]
There is no more lag then in Parallels on intel-mac

Has anyone tried the new Mac parallels with ARM to see if dragon dictation works on it? Thanks

Only usable for me dictating into DragonPad (Dragon 15.61). Everything else (Word, Notepad, WordPad) lags like crazy.

Are you using the 64bit Version or the 32bit Version of OFFICE -Word ?
For me the 32bit Version of Word and Dragen 15.61 are as fast as on a Parallels VM on the Intel Mac.
How much memory did you give to the Windows 10 WM und how many of the M1‘s cores did you assign ?

Bad things happen - after the new build 21370.co:release Windows 10 arm64 prerelease Dragon 15.61 needed a reinstall, after that it is much more laggy.

For now the M1 Mac is a bad option when you need speech-recognition.
