Hi, I recently got a MacPro G5 (PPC) and I have find out that a hackintosh would be the approach that best fits me. THIS are the specs that I think can make it work:
- Intel Core i3 Processor i3-550 3.20GHz 4MB LGA1156 CPU, Retail

- Intel DP55SB Socket LGA1156 DDR3 SDRAM PCI-E Desktop Motherboard (B)

- Patriot Memory G Series DDR3 6GB / 3x2GB PC3-12800 1600MHZ Extreme Performance

-HIGH POWER® 600W ATX Supply for INTEL i7 i5 i3 MOTHERBOARD X58 P55 LGA1156

You might find that discussing the technical ins and outs of the Hackintosh process on this forum gets a rather cold response from the moderators. Asking for opinions is OK, but not the "How To" sort of stuff.

As said, tonymacx86 is probably a better place for that sort of discussion.

I recommend going with a Gigabyte motherboard. They are one of the easiest, if not the easiest, brand of motherboards to use in hackintoshes. With some of them (e.g. GA-Z77X-UD5H and UD3H), getting a hackintosh up and running is almost as easy as simply installing OSX. Of course, these are the newest ones I'm talking about. Not sure about older components.

and also do some searching on tonymac's forums. Specifically, look at the "Golden Build" threads and use parts listed in one of those.

If you really want to use that motherboard, then I recommend at least making a post at tonymac, or searching there, and see if anybody else has used it. I doubt you'll find many threads with that motherboard.
