Apple under-promised and over-delivered with my AirPods -- delivery due on 30th December, but they actually arrived on the 22nd. (Here's hoping they do the same with my MacBook Pro.)

They are everything I've wanted from a set of headphones for years. I loved the EarBuds -- I hate in-ear, on-ear and over-ear -- but the wire used to drive me crazy.

I think the sound quality is excellent and certainly better than the EarPods. People are talking nonsense about battery life and sound quality in comparison with totally different products. It's like complaining my cycle isn't as fast or as comfortable as my Ferrari.

I did learn one valuable lesson today, however. I took my hat off and knocked one of the AirPods out. It fell harmlessly onto the pavement, bounced and landed on the road. No damage. They weigh nothing. But I noticed a drain nearby and shuddered at the thought of what could have happened.

Not ready to buy a connector yet, but you have to be careful with these things ...

Just falling into a drain doesn't necessarily mean death to them. You could always climb into the drain to recover your lost airpod.

I had in mind drains like these, which I think are hard/impossible to open.

Not to mention ****ing disgusting - you couldn't pay me to fish an AirPod out of one of those! :D

Pretty impressive that it survived such a long fall without any damage at all.

My cats would have a field day if I dropped an airpod on the floor.

Exactly what I was going to say. They'll use it for a hockey puck, and knock it under the sofa or some other piece of furniture where it'll take a massive shifting of furniture to retrieve.

Agreed that the Airpods are a better listening answer as you said.

It's time to get a strap for them as I did.

They attach easily. They have already saved my Airpods from the unthinkables, including any drains.

For indoors not so much, for outdoors a must, especially when doing strenuous activities.

I wore my Airpods in the jacuzzi, 30 feet away from my non waterproof iPhone, and texted and controlled music from my AW.

There's no doubt you need to be careful in places like drains maybe push them in your ears more if you think they could be at risk as well.

Drains are also a hazard for phones, rings, jewellery, wallet, car keys etc. Which are probably all much more expensive losses than an AirPod.
