MP 1,1-5,1 DriveDX reports one issue on two backup drives

I have a Mac Pro where I use two 640 GB Western Digital Blue Caviar disks for backups.
One Carbon Copy Cloner and one Time Machine.

Yes, when a drive show a pre-fail warning it will fail, sooner or later.

It doesn't show a pre-fail warning yet, only life-span. Techtool Pro 10, CleanMyMac 3 and Disk Utility say the drives are still OK. The drives are 10 years old.

In my experience DriveDx has been a reliable early warning for impending failure even when everything else looks okay.

Perhaps look at the situation from an additional angle. In DriveDx > Device Statistics see what it tells you and compare that info to WD's performance specifications for the drives. You may discover them to be at the waning end of their rated life. If that's the case, then coupled with DriveDx's warning, you might feel persuaded to replace them.

Especially because these drives appear to be a key part of your backup strategy. If you're running Time Machine hourly and CCC for nightly clones then after 10 years you've gotten a good run from those WD Blues.
