Anyone get the IR Sensor working in Windows?

I'd like to maybe get it to working for using with my Media Center remote so I don't have to use the clunky one MS uses.

Try this:

Use Everest: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html

It'll get better info on the system which XP can then use to better search for online drivers. If XP is telling you that the driver's installed and it still doesn't work it's likely not got the right software links to trigger/work with the app you're trying to run.

Note on XP Media Center Edition:

XP MCE is CRAP!! Use at your own risk! Highly unstable and outperformed by regualr XP Home if you install freeware versions of the MCE apps instead.

Cheers.

Thanks for the tip on that application, it worked well but I still am no further than I was before. Windows automatically assigns its own driver, but naturally its giving me the "Code 10" aka "This device cannot start." (note, I've tried native in bootcamp and in parallels, same device cannot start)

(see attached images for device info, these were taken from inside parallels)

Oh and, MCE technically is XP PRO with the Media Center application and hardware support...

It's no better or worse, trust me, I've ran Windows machines far longer than I have Macs. I've done the benchmarks etc, its no slower or faster than XP Pro.

Maybe someone could make a driver? Its just a simple USB IrDA device right? I bet someone who knows anything about making drivers could get it to work somehow, preferably so one could use it with their existing MCE remote.
