Driver help.

Hi everyone,

I am frustrated in my attemt to find a driver. All the sites I have gone to have made me fill out endless froms. I gave up after 15 minutes.

The driver is a Moterola SM56K it is for a cable modem. If anyone could find it for me or point me in the right dorecton I would be extremely greatful.

Is it the Soft Modem? There's a driver page but it looks like Macs are unsupported (no driver).

My bad i forgot to say this is for a old PC running Windows XP. I'm tring to get it on the internet.

Well, how did the XP driver from the driver page fare?

if it isn't the SoftModem, it doesn't look like Moto is still supporting it, and i think you'll have to bite the bullet and fill out the registration to get it from here.

Or just buy a mac and (almost) never have to worry about drivers again

Wow. So many problems. Where to start....

1) It's "motorola", not "moterola". Spelling is very important when you're searching for something on the internet. I'm not saying this to be mean. It's a fact.

2) The SM56K is not a cable modem. It is a plain old 56k dialup modem. If you're trying to use this to hook up to cable service, I don't even want to know how you plugged it in. It's also not going to be of any help if you're trying to connect to the internet through another computer in your house that's already on the internet.

3) You're in a Mac forum looking for help with a Windows XP system.

Assuming you're really trying to get this working with a dialup service, you're probably going to have to bit the bullet and complete the free registration on one of those sites if you can't find the driver on http://www.motorola.com.
