after some fiddling, i think i open the device manager and i don't know what to right click on.

under network adapters there are only two things, 1394 adapter and marvell yukon gigabit ethernet controller.

other devices? what do i do in device manager?

i've installed the program, run it, i have the driver install thing on here....

directions on wiki say "right click on device..." --what device?! i do not see the wireless card in device manager....

i try right clicking on an unknown device, selecting type:network card, and going through the motions, but then it say it cannot install the hardware.

???

thanks!

you guys are great.

I have no idea which device you right click on, as I'm not sure which one you're trying to install the driver for. But that's the one you should be looking for, the one you're installing the driver for.

Sounds to me like the driver isn't getting installed correctly.

i downloaded the file 77wc36ww.exe and ran the program.... but i don't know what to do in device manager....

say, in device manager, i see all these catagories, and i right click (on what?!?!) unknown device.... and "update drive", install from a specific location... etc, i try so many variations in the hardware update wizard that i get lost and nothing works...

Ok, I just went through this. in the device managers go to the Other devices tab. Open that tab and inside you should see an icon for network adapter. This is the wireless adapter. You right click this icon and choose to update driver.

I am guessing, but it sounds like you are not showing everything in the device manager. In the Device Manager menus under "View" there should be a "Show Hidden Devices". I love how Windows tries to protect us from ourselves, not.

I am struggling with getting the WiFi to work under WinXP x64 on my Mac Pro from last year as well. Best of luck.
