The iMac's x2 TB2 can drive a 5k external screen, do you think it will be possible to drive the LG TB3 Ultrafine 27 with adapters at some point?

I've heard conflicting reports on this. Some say "No" because it's not listed as compatible on Apple's website. Others say yes. Anyone have some definitive clarity on this?

LG Ultrafine requires a Thunderbolt 3 enabled Mac, which 5k iMac isn't.

The only possible way would be an external dock that can take 2 TB2/DP inputs and merge them into a single TB3/dual-DP output. And I doubt we'll ever see such a thing.
