Last night, I finally experienced the "I won't play your rental because of **** DRM" issue. The ugly beast reared its head at the worst time; my wife and I simply wanted to enjoy a movie to end our near perfect weekend as a family. Instead, I went a googling - spending nearly two hours trying everything under the sun that people claimed would work including deauthorizing all my computers, reauthorizing my mini, resetting the Apple TV, etc. I finally resorted to a factory restore and subsequent 2.0 update to fix the issue. Now I have to convince Apple to refund my $4 because I had to rent the movie a second time to reinitiate the download. The kicker to the whole night - Cloverfield is not even worth renting - Maybe I can get two refunds or maybe my Apple TV was protecting me
For the longest time, I have never even noticed the DRM attached to my purchases - but now that I have experienced its restrictions - I have a whole different attitude.
