I have Catalina 10.15.6 and a Drobo 5N. One of its shares appears twice on my desktop, once under SMB and a second time as AFP under Appleshare.

The Appleshare mounted share also has a ".local" appended to the Server line in the info panel; the SMB share does not have it.

I have a number of other shares on the desktop, but this is the only one that appears twice.

This is a nuisance - can anyone tell me why this happens, and perhaps how I could get rid of one of them?

Thank you,

Tom

The Drobo is advertising itself as two different shares, it's not surprising you see it twice. Turn off AFP.

Pos,

Not sure how to do that: turn off AFP at the Drobo? If so, I couldn't figure out where. Maybe just dense...

Can you say how to do that?

Thank you,

Tom

Specifically? No, I tossed my Drobo a couple of years ago. Hard to find a more unreliable storage device than a Drobo. And they've announced their directly connnected devices are not compatible with Big Sur, as well. You have a 5N so it's a little different, but still...
