anyone else getting drop down notifications that stay on the screen until tapped or the home button is pressed? Is this intended or a big?

They persist for a while longer than iOS 9. You can dismiss them by swiping up on the app name on the banner. Quite counterintuitive albeit possible.

What alert style do you have selected for different notifications?

I think this is a bug. I have my notifications for Messages set to banners. While I was writing an email, I received a text. I let it go while I was writing and looked 30 seconds later and the banner was still there. Even as I type this, I received a text and the banner is still showing. Def a bug.
