Activity Monitor shows lots and lots of Dropbox extensions running: this cannot be right: how can I thin this down to one instance?

I have the same issue. I suspect it has something to do with Monterey, because along with Dropbox I see the same thing with Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app and a few others—I didn't notice this behavior prior to upgrading to Monterey. They're not using any CPU and little-to-no RAM, so I don't see it as a major issue.

Activity monitor can be hard to use when applications or services have so many entries. Grouping hierarchically is not enough to resolve this. It does help with Dropbox though, as most of the entries collapse under the main Dropbox entry. When I do collapse Dropbox, I'm left with the single Dropbox and two Dropbox Finder Extension entries.

I wonder if there is some attribute of running processes that could have been used by Activity Monitor to provide a more consolidated view of things.
