I dropped my 3gs in the lake by accident last weekend. After doing the rice trick and drying it out for a couple of days, it works perfectly except the battery indicator is acting screwy. The phone appears to be holding a much better charge all of the sudden (as in the battery life "appears" to have improved.) I turned it on this morning at 6:00am and it is still showing 91% charge. I have used it quite a bit today also normally I would expect it to be at about 75% by now. The charge meter also doesn't seem to be updating as often. Any ideas on this? Am I just getting false readings now? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Anyone have any insight on this. It seems my battery meter only changes in big chunks. It goes from 100%->84%->78% etc. The battery life still seems okay though. Thanks.

I have no idea if this would help or maybe shed a little light on the situation, but have you recalibrated the battery since the phone dried out? Like run it all the way down to 0% and then charge it fully? I don't know if the battery meter will be accurate enough to tell when it's fully charged, though... hmm....

Curious to hear the results once you get some other suggestions, though!

Thanks for the responses. I did give that a try but it did not help. It is odd. Right now I have my phone plugged into the computer and the little charge complete symbol is showing on the battery meter icon, but the charge % shows at 92%

When I ran the battery down so that I could recalibrate, I believe it died at about 2%

Wow improved battery lice after it's been droppedin water. Drop it back into water and see if mms gets activated. J/k

Funny guys. I will try to restore it now and see what happens. Should I restore from back-up?

I restored from backup and it does seem to have helped some. The jumps don't seem as often. What I mean is it went from 100% to 94% instead of 100% to 85% like it had been doing. This could all be in my head though.
