Apologies first since there are several topics related. But one's searching for specific answers.
I droppped my iphone in water where it sat there 6,7 seconds before I realized. The screen went blank after few minutes. I saw some strange lines before I rushed home and used the cold hair dryer for more than 1 hour. I switched it off and let it sit few more hours. Then it spent the night drying in a tupperware with rice.

The Problem:
iphone works. I mean, i can turn it on. But i get no phone, no wifi signal. The quarter bottom of the screen is not sensitive. I took it to a repair shop (in Istanbul) and they told me that they have to change the screen (140USD), motherboard (120USD) and something called the Com (100USD). The total amount is almost the double for what I've paid for the phone. So now it just sits on my desk and staring at me. Poor thing does not have a single scratch on it. I took very good care of her, but look at what all happened.

Any suggestions people. Do you think the phone will survive. What should I do with it at this critical night.

Please helppppp

Give it a couple more days and if it doesn't recover, buy a new one.

It may be more expensive than the repairs, but you don't want to go about worrying the thing's going to fail because of something that was missed.

give it a bit more time.
you could even try leaving the iphone turned off in a jar of uncooked rice. the rice will pull more moisture out of the phone (or so it is said).

does this really help? i read about this myth several times....

I've heard both rice and popcorn (unpopped, of course) work.
I did the rice trick with my old verizon e815 a few years back, and it came back to life 100% after about 6 days.

Try it for a few more days... what could it hurt
