Yikes, I dropped my MBP today, didn't even realise that it damaged my MBP till I came to use the USB port. The port has a dent in it has put a dent in the lid. My USB devices now don't seem to fir in the socket.

I am totally devastated, I got in touch with the company I bought it from (John Lewis) in the UK, they say there is nothing they can do and that I should find a dealer who can repair it.

Can it be repaired?

Thanks
Lee

of course it can be repaired, at cost, but have you not got insurance of any kind on it??

home contents insurance for external items that leave the home is really cheap, i replaced my powerbook after it got dropped, and that insurance costs me £15.50 extra per year!

Hi vincebio,

Thanks for the speedy response. The incident happened at home, I have home insurance and was debating weather to get in touch and ask them about my options, are you suggesting that I am probably not covered by my regular home insurance?

£15.50 extra per year is great value.

Thanks
Lee

Yeah, see if you can use the insurance. Insurance is great peace of mind and that's what it's there for invest in it. Ha, and "No" I don't sell insurance but after reading many threads about theft and damage I might take it up as a part time career.

LOL
