DSLR and a6000?

I have been browsing these forums for a few weeks now. I recently have picked up a Sony a6000 after using my cell phone camera for some time now.
Was wondering what people's thoughts would be if the a6000 would be good enough by its self or should I also pick up an entry level DSLR?

I mostly take pics of the kids and scenery when out and about. We are also into geocaching and usually the camera follows with us as we never know where we will end up. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

ditto, unless you will be taking on photography more seriously, in which case, stick with a6000 until you feel you have outgrown it

Instead of a separate DSLR, get a better lens (e.g., the 16-70) from the money. (The 16-50 kit lens is seriously lacking and is a disgrace for Sony.) Then, your A6000 will produce at least as good images as the best entry/mid-level DSLR's (e.g., the Nikon D3300 / D5300) and significantly better than Canon's entry-level DSLR's (e.g., 700D).

I'm personally planing on going from an entry-level dslr to the a6000. Autofocus speed and lens selections are the big reason to sway you in one direction or the other.

You won't get better images from a cheap DSLR with a decent lens than from the a6000 with a decent lens.
