Hi
I wonder if anyone done that on their m1 ?
- Split the ssd into 2 partitions
- Install 11.1 on each partition
- Why, so my work and private os is sepparated (like I have it on my Intel mac)
I made a try with my old m1, but diskutil f*cked up the ssd, (it got twice the size so apple sent me a new m1 mac (bricked !)
The old m1 external ssd I installed 11.0.1 on wont boot on the new m1 (yes boot options are set to allow external boot)
Im damn careful now, the firmware/boot/etc seem to be very different from Intel macs ...
Your macos Admin user and password seem to be stored in the firmware.
That why im asking so i dont f*ck up everything when installing bigsur on the other partition ... overwriting the other partitions user/pw !
Or anyone got a clue how bootsystem works on m1 firmware
/Alexis
