Hey guys,

Couldn't find a proper answer to this question but im planning to get a mac mini for my TV but later down the track i will buy a Thunderbolt display so it becomes both my computer and HTPC (my desktop is very close to my TV)

My question is can you have differing display sleep setting for each monitor. For instance, have the HDMI port outputing Plex on the second screen but never go into sleep but the main screen, via TB, sleep after 15 mins.

The reason i need this is because i dont want the TB display to be on at times if im watching something on the tv.

P.S, i would test it myself but i dont have the gear yet

Thanks guys Hamshi

after doing some more research it seem that others have asked the same question but no one has ever really come up with the good. if anyone knows about this some info would be great as it will heavily way on my purchase decision

No you can't. There is only one sleep setting which applies to all monitors.

You can, of course, use the power switch on the monitor. :)
