Dual gpu flicker full screen video help

I have an issue where when I was videos in full screen it would make the screen flicker. I found out it was because it was a dual gpu macbook and it was switching back in forth. I tried gfxcard and gswitch to force the igpu and both times it would work for awhile then start flickering again. I tried using the terminal command it it also worked for awhile then started again. is there anyway to stop this from happening?
