hello guys

i wonder if there's away to run my cMP 5.1 with a dual GPU system that will be able to boot Mavericks and Mojave .

which combo of GPU will be able to do this ?

at the moment i have a single gtx 680 that does the job , but running slow for video editing , and wonder if i could find a combo of 2 gpu that permit me to launch Mavericks for my pro tools, and then the second gpu for Mojave .

maybe a rx 580 for Mojave and another card for Mavericks ?

also , is the Nvidia Geforce GTX Titan Black 6GB compatible with Mavericks and Mojave ?

thanks .

Mojave won't work with a supported and an unsupported GPU installed at the same time. The only known workaround is to disable the unsupported GPU with OpenCore, but it's a very advanced usage of OpenCore.

Using a dual GPU usually have power consumption problems too, even with the GPU disabled by OpenCore. Use a GPU that works for both, like your GTX 680/GTX 780/Titan Black/R9-280X or learn how to use OpenCore and think about doing a Pixla's mod.

Yes, it's the professional equivalent of GTX 780 and works with the same drivers of GTX 680.

Last macOS release that accepts a NVIDIA and AMD card at the same time is 10.13.6.

macOS is know to have weird problems when you have a supported GPU installed at the same time as an unsupported one. This is valid for Mavericks too.

Like I said before, or you disable the unsupported GPU at the boot loader level with OpenCore or you use just one GPU that works for both macOS releases.

Any dual GPU install with two high-end GPUs will need Pixla's mod.

So you seriously work in Mavericks doing whatever, then have to reboot into Mojave to do something else. Can't you run all your software from one OS?

yes, i work with pro tools 10hd for my RTAS plug ins only supported on mavericks and switch to mojave for other stuff

that's why i want to have a better GPU system for me to edit videos on Mojave and not limited to my GTX 680

Is there a way to maybe have an external GPU that i can plug when using mojave ?

and which GPU would be the best if i wanted to replace my GTX 680 for my dual boot OS setup ? titan black x ?

You can't use an external gpu with a 5.1mp.
Newer gpu's will not work with older versions of MacOS, i.e. an RX580 will only work in Sierra or later.
Trying to run a very old OS with old software AND have a fancy new GPU is not easy at all.
