Hi everyone,

I received my new 2.66 Mac Pro two weeks ago. I have two new 20.1" Samsung 204B (1600x1200) LCD monitors. I am using the ATI X1900XT video card. Both of the monitors are using digital cables.

At random times, the right monitor flashes of for a second or two then comes back on. Sometimes it doesn't do it for a long time and sometimes it does it frequently. Last night, it happened three times within an hour. It is driving me completely nuts.

Has anyone else had problems with one of their LCDs flashing on and off? I searched and didn't see anything about this issue.

Thanks,

Mark

Apparently it is a fairly widespread problem with the Samsung 204B monitors made in China. The ones made in Mexico don't seem to have the problem. I knew $300 for a 1600x1200 20.1" monitor was too good to be true...

It doesn't seem like there is a fix yet other than to exchange monitors or find a Mexican one :( The monitor randomly turns itself off, then back on a second later. It is driving me completely nuts.

Oh well...the adventure continues...
