Today I bought a Mini-DP to DVI adapter to finally use my dual dell displays. Everything went fine but while I was adjusting my monitors height the cable on the back of one of the monitors pulled out and when I re plugged it the monitor no longer gets signal. I tried both displays and cables on either monitor and they both work on the hdmi to dvi adapter but not on the thunderbolt port. Is my adapter broken or thunderbolt port?

With nothing plugged in but the power and minidp-dvI I get the grey boot up screen but in the wrong resolution. After it finishes loading the screen just goes into power save mode.

Are your two monitors both connected via DVI? If so, switch them around and see if the problem follows the port on the mini, the monitor itself, or the cable.

The problem follows the port. Either monitor works fine on the dvi-HDMI adapter but when put on the mini-dp to dvi they both do as described on the first and second post.
