I'm thinking of adding a second monitor to my 2009 Mac Pro setup. I have the standard GPU Nvidia GT 120. I have a large monitor connected but could use a smaller one for tool palettes and stuff that's always open, like email and browser. Will adding a second monitor be pretty much plug and play?

Well the Apple GT120 has a Single Dual Link DVI port and a Mini DisplayPort on the back. So if you display that you currently have is using the DVI port then then you would need a Mini DisplayPort to either DVI or VGA depending on what your new display uses, apple has like a $20 adapter from the Apple Online Store or you can find much cheaper ones on eBay.

Thanks. Checking eBay...
