Dual monitor with white iMac?

Hey just a quick question...

I know you can hook up another monitor to the new imacs but when I owned a 2.1ghz white iMac I seem to remember breifly that I couldn't connect a monitor to it..

I'm thinking of getting one from ebay (don't like the new glossy screens) so would be nice to know if I can or not

Edit- Although I used to own a PPC imac, but would probably get a intel core 2 duo this time..

I had a 20" LCD hooked into my 17" iSight iMac (PPC) and it ran it just fine.
