Fast doubt here, I've been trying to find information about this without success.

Mac pro 1,1, Lion 10.7 & XFX ATI 6870 with ATY_init from groths.org.

I know only a DVI port may work. But what about mini display ports? I have plugged a mdp to dvi to any of my displays without luck. Do you think this may not work with a 1,1 MP?

Thanks

I just noticed that, my adapter is an active mini displayport to single-link dvi adapter. I've tried both with a 30" apple cinema display and also with a 21" Wacom Cintiq. No luck. Ideas anyone?

Thanks

You need a mini display port to dual link DVI adapter for it to work.

Thank you Ashman70. Since single link is supposed to support resolutions up to 1920x1200 I thought it would have worked with my Wacom Cintiq, that useas 1600x1200 as native resolution.

I have been looking for adapters to solve my issue and I have found these below. Thing is that these are just DVI-D, so I can't plug my analog Cintiq in there. I guess I should leave it in the working DVI port and then connect my 30" ACD with a mini displayport adapter. So I'm afraid I will have to buy the expensive one. What do you think?

Thanks!

You shouldn't have to buy the expensive Apple adapter for your 30 ADP, it should connect to a mini display port using the dual link DVI adapter. You should be able to get a dual link DVI adapter to mini display port in the US for around $30 I would think.

Thank you very much. I will try with a cheap dual-link one.
