iPhone X dual sim question (travel to japan)

we go to japan once or twice a year for almost a month... does the dual sim help here? can we just get an extra sim instead of dealing with pocket wifi?

I'd love to know this as well -- I've used the pocket wifi for Japan but have been SO tempted to use a SIM instead (but still had an iPhone 7+ when I visited last September).

The physical SIM will be the primary while the eSIM will be the secondary. So you will need to find a Japanese carrier that will work with eSIM or swap out physical SIMs.

The other option is to buy the Chinese version that has 2 physical SIM slots.
