I don't travel, so Ive never had a need for a dual sim phone. But with the new phones having dual sim capability I got to thinking....

I own a business, but use my business phone as my personal phone. A few years ago I tried carrying two phones, one business, one personal, in effort to separate myself from work on the weekends. I hated carrying 2 phones, and gave up after a few months and went back to just using my work number for personal use.

With a dual sim phone could I have 2 separate numbers, using separate iMessage/phone apps? or would all calls and texts go to the same place? If so, I might as well stick with one number. How does the phone handle calls when I receive a call to my personal phone number? Will I be able to distinguish business from personal calls/texts?

Thanks

hi
i think your case is similar to many business persons who will likely use this dual SIM capability in exactly the way you describe.
you'll have to use a different carrier for the 2nd (eSIM) but you can get iMessages on either. and it looks like the rules/options that will be able to used when you set it up will give you exactly the flexibility you are looking for.

im so happy that apple has finally launched this capability in iPhones.

I would like to know how to (and if you can) port your existing number to an eSim.
