I know, this is a shocker to everyone who played the game. I haven't played Duck Hunt in forever, but the only thing not ripped off of Nintendo was the crosshair -- and that's because you used a friggin' gun. How this got approved I'll never know. Must've been some 18-year-old who never played an NES.

If there is an 18-year old who hasn't played it then its a travesty, because I'm only 16, and I've owned an NES, and duck hunt. Here's hoping to a Contra port.

And that, my friend, is how Nintendo DS is going to die...

Doubtful. First, not that many people jailbreak their phones. Second, ever used ROMs? A decade ago, I had a bunch of those on my PC of old Nintendo games. That didn't stop me from buying them legit through the shop channel on the Wii.

I do think Nintendo should develop older games for play on the iPhone, but I don't think they have EVER developed for a third-party platform.

Come on' dude, I have 2 NESs right now. One of which is hooked up to a 52" TV with surround sound. Do you realize how freaky it is when Mario is a good 6" tall!

Pixelated as hell, but I get your point. :) Does your TV have a game mode on it? I tried hooking my NES to my 42" plasma screen (sans a game mode feature) and it was like a quarter-second behind from the controls to the output on the TV. It was maddening in games like SMB and Contra, not to mention RBI Baseball! I needed Jose Canseco and Mark McGwire to hit 700-foot home runs and couldn't...it was like trying to time up hitting a changeup.

OP: Chillax. Seriously you sound slightly miffed that someone submitted this app in the first place. It was discussed here and I purchased it right away. I hope it stays on next time I sync my phone.

I mean, it is no surprise that it was pulled but quite frankly I'm not at all bothered that someone actually put it on the app store even if they profited off a totally unoriginal idea. It worked much better than "duck hunting" another duck hunt like app in the app store ... still.

Mine is plasma, just projection, so the response time is right on. I believe RBI Baseball is in my NES right now, that is such a great game.

I'm sure they haven't profited at all. I just got my first direct deposit from December sales. Duck Hunt came out more recently and it was pulled before the developer ever saw a penny.

I guess no more updates to the game. :( Decent game play but I feel like I supported piracy.
Wait wtf? How?

Oh could be. I wouldn't know. I am not a developer I'm a purchaser. ;)

haha glad i bought this before it was pulled ;). Its not even that good though. I think nintendo should release a nes app and charge 99 cents to 5 dollars for games. That a gold mine of money!!

The developer of this game should be happy Nintendo isn't an American company...imagine if it was a Microsoft game that got ripped off? Not only would the game have been taken down, but the developer would then be sued to high heaven. Nintendo, they are polite...they only go after big fish, the makers and sellers of pirate devices.

More likely they would go after APPLE. Apple has set themselves up as the arbiter of what goes in the appstore. Apple holds the cash. The developer hasn't received a penny yet. And Apple ought to know better. To the developer's credit, as I recall he entered "Nintendo" in the area where you specify copyright when you upload an app.

Plus you have to remember that Nintendo offers old titles in their online store for play on the Wii. So it's not "Abandonware"...

Nintendo won't sue the guy - they understand that people want retro games. Maybe this will wake them up into making some iPhone games!
