Due upgrade of 3gs in July but wait

I upgrade each year when all new singing and dancing iphone is released.
This year though, if there isn't a spectacular improvement with the 4g or whatever, I may keep what I have and get an iPad.
I'm wondering if many others are feeling the same way and therefore could the iPad impact on new iPhone sales at that point

iPad is an iPod replacement/competitor ( multimedia device capable of accesing the internet)

it does not compete with iPhones (can make calls)
or Macbooks (full fledged computer)

New iPhone has to have 5mp camera with video for me or I'll consider going HMC.

All other features I'm happy with, it really is the dogs bollocks.

i think the next iphone revision will be pretty significant, with a slight design change.

You should have skipped the 3gs upgrade and waiting for this one. I'm still using my 3g phone just fine, but look forward to this summer's iphone.

Well it has a microphone and runs Skype. I think it will make calls just fine.

No need to worry. Steve Jobs has been quoted saying the update will be an "A+ update". Should be a good one.

Jobs was even quoted saying the lackluster update allowed google and other mobile developers to catch up. This is why he said the next update needs to be an A+ update. Jobs said so himself. End discussion
