I have an Early 2015 13" MBA (Mac OS Monterey) and iPad Air 4th Gen(iPadOS 15). The MBA doesn't support Sidecar so to use the iPad as a second display I have purchased the Duet display app (wired connection). I have been a bit disappointed with the results and found the app very laggy when using the iPad as an extension to the MBA screen. I have contacted Duet display support and they have suggested it might be due to the cable and adapter I am using. I have the iPad USB-C to USB-C cable plugged in to an Arktek USB-C to USB-A adapter. I tried with another cable (Samsung USB-A one end, USB-C the other) but no improvement. Has anyone experienced similar issues and have any suggestions e.g. a particular cable/adapter configuration?

Would welcome any advice please.

Duet runs especially poorly in big sur and later. there's not much you can do except maybe drop the resolution to non-retina. Quality will of course suffer but it's a trade off for speed.

Duet hasnt updated their main app in a very long time and the newer mac clients are full off glitches/extra slower. (they're way more focused on the subscription based duet air version)

The version of duet that works best/fastest for me is duet-2-3-1-3. All versions after that are weird/blur in and out. Ive reported this a bunch of times and they are aware of it but it's never fixed.

Hi, thanks for replying. The Duet support team have actually been very helpful and managed to find a fix for me. They suggested I pause the Apple Wireless Direct Link (AWDL) on the Duet app on the Mac and that seems to have solved the problem for me. Might be worth you giving it a try to see if it works for you.
