Dumb app store question

So....

Is it not possible to browse the full app store through the app on the ipad? It seems that all I can get to is top charts and a few select apps from each category.

How in the heck do you get beyond the top 20 apps in each category and see everything else?

That's not a dumb question. I don't have an answer though.
I usually read apps reviews online then go to the app store to purchase. Most of these sites provide a direct link to the app store through a "buy it" button.
