I feel stupid asking this because I used to know how and now I've gone and forgotten it.

I have a logo that a client sent to me as their "original". As it turns out, while it was a layered PSD at least, it only contains a raster graphic on one layer and is only 72dpi and relatively small in dimension.

I need the convert the logo to vector. I can select the content of the layer (it is transparent, so only the body of the logo would be selected, and the edges are pretty clean), but I forget where to go from there.

Help me! I'm trying to get to sleep before the sun comes up!

Thanks

Convert to Paths?

With your selection, in the Path palette, choose Make Work Path.. from the drop down triangle. Save the path by renaming it. Next choose Clipping Path and choose the path you just created.

Got it, thanks.

I just made the selection and created a new fill layer.

I don't feel quite as dumb now.
