Got a silly question about QT Pro.

If I buy a key for QT Pro 7.0.3 for my iBook, can I transfer that same key to my Dell desktop, or vice versa?

The iBook is great for quick and dirty jobs, but for long encoding processes the PC may be faster and put less wear on the iBook.

I just don't want to buy the key for my Mac and find out that it's too slow for recoding video to my new 5G and then have to shell out another $30 for the XP version...

I think Pro licenses are platform specific. I know that on my receipt for QT Pro it says "QT 7 PRO MAC ACCESS KEY-I". I'm assuming that that means that it will only work for the Mac version.

What kind of iBook do you have? How many MHZ~ is it. Normally I have found when ever I encode video or backup home DVD's or do any big things like that, my little 400 MHZ~ iMac goes 20X faster than my PC, which is 500MHZ~. (They both have the same amount of ram) For example, when ever I make a movie on iMovie on my iMac, i can make a one minute video in 5 to 4 minutes. On my PC it takes almost 35-45 Minutes! Now, i have never encoded using QT Pro, but i would imagine it is the same result.

My iBook G4 is a 1.33 GHz (the rev before the last one), and my Dell is a 2.8GHz. The other difference is that I have a 60GB drive in the iBook and a 300GB drive in the Dell.

As much as I love my iBook, the Dell usually outperforms it.
