I had a MBP which I used to sync all my music & movies to my iPhone. I got a new MBP and moved everything over from the old MBP. On my iPhone, I have playlists that I really don't want to lose. How do I sync my current iPhone's playlists, etc., to the new new MBP. From what I can tell, in Finder if I click sync, it takes what's on the MBP and wants to sync it to my phone. I'm guessing it doesn't take what's on the phone on put that on the computer, right/

Assuming your playlists are saved in Apple Music, they should just be copied over via iCloud. I know that I set up my M1 Mac as a new device, and all of my playlists, music, etc. just carried over like that. I can even access them via the Apple Music app on my Galaxy Note 10.

Nope, dint have Apple music. And I know if I get it to sync, once the subscription ends they're deleted. Sometimes Apple justbites.

I don't see this at all as Apple's fault man. They provide the tools such as Apple Music for easy syncing. That's on you if you don't continue the subscription. You have to keep in mind it's a business and you shouldn't expect a business to give you all the amenities for free. Before cloud syncing Windows and Mac users had to re-type all our contacts when we did a reformat of the hard drive. Just being honest about it.
