I made a playlist of songs. I want to know how to purchase the entire playlist so I can burn an audio cd for someone.

Yes, I'm old. Yes I buy music (but do have AppleMusic) and yes I like to make mix cd's for people.

How do I do this? I feel like I'm fairly imntelligent but Apple seems to not want to sell songs.

IS THERE A BETTER WAY TO DO THIS?

Sorry, I don’t think I have much of an answer, but I would like to know if anyone else has one. I don’t think what you’re hoping for is possible without buying the songs one-by-one—which is also not super easy—but I hope I’m wrong on that.

I canceled Apple Music because I’d like the option to purchase certain songs after streaming them a few times, but Apple Music didn’t seem to be set up for that in a streamlined way. Even when I was able to figure out how to purchase certain songs (one by one), it then became cumbersome to figure out which copy of the song was mine vs. Apple Music’s and to get mine uploaded to my library while deleting the other copy of the song. As you suggest, it doesn’t seem like Apple has much interest in selling music to you once they have your subscription to Apple Music.

I keep iTunes Match instead of Apple Music, but as far as I know it doesn’t allow you to create playlists until you own the songs.

I was able to get it done but not all at once. I had to delete the AppleMusic tracks I downloaded. The go purchase these separately. They did, thankfully, update in the playlist with the purchased version automatically. I verified every song by getting song info and looking at the last tab.

So its very counterintuitive but thats Apple these days. Anyway, the lost art of the mix tape (or cd as it were) is alive with me. This one will be one of the better ones I've done.

Where is this playlist? Bear in mind Apple Music and the iTunes store are completely separate products so it's not entirely "counterintuitive" for there to not be a 'Purchase All' button. Also you've kind of already paid for the ability to listen to those songs with your AM subscription.

I don't think it's a lost art... just a different medium nowadays. I have plenty of playlists I've curated myself in the absence of CDs :)

Never thought of sharing the playlist because who cares. The CD was a hit so I guess this is how its done.

It may have something to do with the type of file. Before Apple changed iTunes, I used buy all my songs for $.99 or what ever they were charging. Now i download all the songs I want, but they belong to Apple and now I pay my monthly fee of $9.99.

You can see the difference the kind of file, can't do much the AM ACC file other than listen to it, the purchased file can be moved to different computer etc.
