OK so I'm from Mexico but I'm currently studying in Quebec, and I also heard that the 15" DL PB displays are getting the line issue fixed. My mac is 3 months old but I didn't bring any of the papers that came with it. So I'm wondering if I need any of that stuff to call Apple and get the screen fixed or they'll do it no questions asked since the 15" DL PBs should all still be covered by the one year warranty.

Also, do I need to delete any illegal movies, software and disable FrontRow or back up my stuff before sending it in?

EDIT: To those who got their displays fixed, how long did it take?

Like mexicans are the only ones who download illegal stuff.. thanks for using your time to mock my country instead of answering the questions. Appreciated.

Sidestepping the whole issues of not doing this in the first place, yes I would. Whilst I've never heard of Apple telling on it's users you could always be the first.

YES! Apple might well wipe your drive and do a fresh install as part of the process!

Your warranty is tied to your serial number, so as long as you registered the machine when you bought it, the warranty dealer should be able to look it up anywhere.

Absolutely back up the machine, and remove any 3rd party RAM, and any, um, not purchased software before sending it in. Make the assumption that they may give you a different machine back, so anything of yours may be lost.

Oh, and next time, make a thread title that is relevant to the question you are asking.
