Duplicate artists on Remote but not iPod

Hey all. Everything that is on my iPod (iPhone) shows up correctly. When I use the Remote App and my new Apple TV, some artists show up twice. Everything is correct as far as the artist and album artist fields in iTunes. There are no extra spaces or anything. I find it odd that the iPod would be fine but the Remote wouldn't.

check the sort fields also, so "sort artist" and "sort album".

also not sure on this, but it could be a compilation complication. (ha)

The Sorting tab under Get Info is all consistent and the compilation box isn't checked. It for some reason is splitting up the albums but like I said only on my Apple tv and in the remote app.
