Duplicate bug reports are GOOD!

Sometimes in the past when I sent bug reports to apple, and got a response that it is a duplicate of somebody else's, I thought to myself why bother?

But then I found out that it is actually good.

Bug reports actually get higher priority when there are multiple reports of the same issue from different sources.

So now if I get a response that a bug report of mine is a duplicate, I smile, not frown.

So some of you who have found some bugs should send it to apple and smile if they tell you it is a duplicate.

This is true for most companies - the more reports, the higher visibility that particular issue has. Apple doesn't give out cookies to the first person to report a specific bug either, so there's no disadvantage to reporting something that has already been reported at least once.

These are of course important since bug replication if an important part of the rectification process.
