Good morning.

I have 2 iPhones, one for work and one for personal with different numbers but both have the same Apple ID. The problem I've had since iOS 17 is that when I go to call history, all calls from both lines appear on both phones. Any ideas on why this is happening or what settings to modify to prevent this from happening?
I have restored the phone to the factory, I have called AppleCare (they have not been able to give me a solution)...
Thank you

Clearly it’s syncing through the Apple ID; likely either iCloud Drive or iCloud Keychain. As far as the existing histories go, sound like they’re merged now but I suspect turning off iCloud Drive or iCloud Keychain on one of them will prevent it from continuing with future calls.

Settings > Click on your name > iCloud.
Tap on ‘Show all’ to see all apps using iCloud.
Toggle ‘Phone’ to off.

Phone history wouldn’t use Keychain or iCloud Drive to sync.

Using more than one phone with identical Apple IDs is known to cause unforeseen issues and is generally not recommended.

Thank you very much for your answers, but this is something that did not happen to me before ios17. Apple strategy to create more IDs?

This is really only the case if more than one person is sharing that Apple ID.
What about the person that has a work phone and a personal phone and doesn't want to have to buy two pairs of Airpods, 2 Macbooks and two ipads?

iOS 17 itself probably isn’t to blame; just the default settings that came with the upgrade. You are, of course, an “edge case” if you’re using one Apple ID on two separate devices but you don’t want the data merged.

Whatever’s merged at this point is done. Either adjust your settings and move on (albeit accepting that similar will happen during future updates) or go ahead and create a new Apple ID for one of them and use Family Sharing if you want to share purchases.

Thank you very much for your reply. I think that's what happened to me, I've been lucky to be able to use two phone numbers with the same ID, although due to the inconvenience it causes me now I'm going to make two different IDs. I hope this solves the problem for me since I have been trying all week (without success) to avoid this duplicity in calls. In case there are more people affected, I will inform you of the result. Once again, wherever you are, thank you for your responses.
