I just know this has been answered at least in part on these forums before but I haven't managed to find it through search. As a heads up I'm running Yosemite PB2 (though I don't think thats the issue).

I noticed today that I have duplicates of all my contacts on my phone, iPad, MBP contacts app AND in iCloud. I've had this happen in the past on my phone when iCloud first came out and managed to figure out how to delete the duplicates but I'm at a loss on what to do here. I have no idea how to delete duplicates of contacts on iCloud itself and I know resolving the issue on my iOS devices will be pointless until I can remove them from iCloud.

has anyone else run into this and if so any help would be greatly appreciated. I tried Apple's help pages but didn't see anything relevant when it came to duplicates in iCloud other than to contact Apple support. Thought I'd try here first.

Thank you!

I ended up manually deleting the duplicates from iCloud after turning contacts off on my devices and not saving them then allowing iCloud to repopulate in iOS. If anyone knows a simpler way please feel free to post for myself and others.

There are numerous apps out there that clean up duplicate contacts. Can't attest to how well they work as I've never had the issue.
