This is weird... I have begun tagging all my new movies with MetaX as I add them to iTunes. Now on some movies, :apple:tv's "My Movies" listing shows several copies of the same movie. In other words, after adding my rip of Ratatouille into iTunes, the :apple:tv list shows "Ratatouille" 10 times! Some movies only appear once in the list, while others are duplicated. I can't figure this out. Never happened before I started using MetaX.

Anyone else have this issue? Is MetaX to blame, or just a coincidence?

Are you going back and editing them after initially importing them to your library? I've found that MetaX will duplicate the entry if you right-click on the iTunes entry and select 'Edit with MetaX', make your changes, and press start. Easy to fix, just delete the old one (don't delete the file though as it is the same file). I haven't seen this behavior otherwise.

I'm actually not importing them into iTunes until after MetaX is done tagging them. The movie shows once in iTunes, but then multiple times on :apple:tv.

You probably need to sync the data again. Click your AppleTV in the Sources list, in the lower right corner of iTunes click the Sync button. That should clear up the dups.

Michael

Tried re-syncing, but thanks. The issue exists whether I have the movies synced or not.

Have you tried power-cycling the AppleTV? Just pull the plug, let it sit for a few seconds, plug it back in and let it synchronize naturally with iTunes.

Regards,
Michael

Yes, I and others have experienced this (I already posted a question about this a few weeks ago).

It is a bug in the sync software (as best I can deduce). In my situation, the duplicates eventually disappeared after several subsequent re-syncs and new movie additions.
