Hello,

Can anyone please suggest a duplicate photo finder that really does work ?

Free would be best, but a few bucks O.K. too.

I am using Photos Cleaner, and also Duplicate File Folder, but they "miss" too many for me.

Thanks, appreciate any suggestions,
B.

I use PhotoSweeper X and Pix Compare. Both excellent once you get your settings down. They used to locate unique duplicates. Been spotting the same ones for over a year. Need just one of them.

Hi,

Thanks for suggestions.

I downloaded Pix Compare, and it seems to work really well.

Thanks again,
Bob
[doublepost=1526939632][/doublepost]Hi again,

Forgot to also ask:

Is there a User Manual somewhere in the program ?

Looked, but couldn't see any.

Am curious in particular if you can set the
selection "sensitivity," and any other good things to know.

Thanks,
Bob

I use Gemini to find duplicate files on my Mac for two years. It really helps me a lot and I like its interface much. I will have Gemini photos on my iPhone 6SP to have a try as well

"report back" with your thoughts on the app.
I've been trying to cull manually and may end up just going that route or another.
I have Gemini for Mac and it works there nicely.

There are only two settings. Ignore aspect ratio: yes if you crop images. Similarity: How much editing do you do? No editing, move slider close to exact. Aggressive edits, move the other way. I believe it does its comparisons in grey scale, so color differences won't matter.

Over the years the app has gone from quite a few settings to very few. During that period its improved its effectiveness by leaps and bounds. Its pretty much aim it and run it.
